Medical
Medical care in Malawi is provided by the government in the form of local clinics and hospitals. There are also a few private hospitals scattered around the country. The doctor to patient ratio is one of the lowest in the world, with only about 300 doctors for 18 million citizens. Complicating matters is the lack of transportation to a health facility. If one is very ill and unable to pay a bicycle taxi or walk the many miles to a clinic or hospital, the necessary care may not be obtained. To facilitate care for the very sick and vulnerable, Demonstrate Love assists with medical bills and transportation for those in crisis medical situations.
The organization also helps with durable medical equipment for those with physical limitations.
